I'm running DSM4 and this extension (old and new version) no longer works at all for me. I tried Chrome and Safari and get the same message "Premium Account required" for all attempted downloads. I have checked file hosting and all file types are enabled.

I think the problem must be somewhere in your DSM settings. The premium account error can only be shown if the DiskStation gives that error so the connection and your username and password are working correctly.

Have you checked the file hosting settings for the same account as you are using in the extension? Most of the Download Station settings are stored per user. Also keep in mind that most of the file hosting sites supported by Download Station requires you to enter your account details.

The following link should work since it is a normal file download that doesn't have anything to do with file hosting sites:
http://www.bbned.nl/scripts/speedtest/d ... 1000mb.bin

Does this also give the Premium account error?

The file link you gave me works ok, as do other file downloading sites which do not need an account login. YouTube videos don't work though - I checked the settings, under YouTube is reads "Public video downloading supported" but when I try to download something I get the error message "Premium account required".

YouTube should work as well, are you sure that the YouTube downloader is up-to-date? You can check for updates by clicking "Check for update" in the filehosting tab in Download Station settings. If there's a update, click "Update All" to get the update. The latest version for the YouTube downloader is currently 1.3.

If this doesn't work, it might be a bug in Download Station. The extension just sends the URL to Download Station, Download Station handles the downloading and file hosting stuff.

This extension is great and very very useful, thanks for creating it..

Would it be possible maybe though to add a second option to the contextual menu for adding new downloads, something like "Download with DiskStation (with Authorisation)"?? And then have the ability to enter a Username and Password for the new download.. This would greatly expand the function of the extension when adding new downloads and make it really superb..

Hope you can help..

This might be possible for websites that use HTTP authentication for downloads, but it won't work for most of the websites. Websites like private torrent trackers often use another way to protect downloads. I might be wrong, but I think adding an option for HTTP auth protected downloads wouldn't be useful for most users :)

As you might have noticed, I released an update last week with the following changes:

Changelog 1.4.3
- Added support for multiple links
- Updated icons
- Fixed an issue that could cause the popup to become unresponsive in Safari

Besides that: HTTPS should work again with the latest version of DSM4. Synology fixed a bug which caused the problems with HTTPS. If you can't get HTTPS working (and you have the latest version of DSM) please make sure that:

- HTTPS is enabled and the port is forwarded
- You are able to access DSM using HTTPS with the same url and port as you entered in the extension
- Your certificate is valid (or you have added an exception to allow your Diskstation's certificate)

Hi,

Great extension. Magnet links and YouTube download both work. However, it only works for me when I let the extension connect as admin. Preferably, I would have the extension login as a normal user with r/w access to the downloads folder and application privilege set for download station. Can't get it to work this way ('failed to add download task'). Connection test is ok. Any advise? I'll be glad to post logs etc.

I'm using 1.4.4 (on safari 5.1.5) with DSM 4.0-2219.

Have you tried to add a download task with the non-admin user from the web interface? The first time a user opens the Download Station web app, it will ask to choose a download folder. Before that, the extension won't work with the account.
If this doesn't solve your problem, try to stop and restart the Download Station package in Package Center :)

That was it. I never realized that choosing the download folder was a per-user setting. Thanks!

Has anyone else experiencing problems with downloading torrents within the last couple of weeks.
When downloading directly from web it works, but when adding an a torrent with the Safari extension,
i get: "1.96KB og NA (NA) - Error"

I've tried uninstalling/re-installing DL station, restarting NAS, creating new download folder, checking permissions etc.

Please advise.

I don't have any problems with torrents. Could you send me a link that causes this issue?

I'm getting the same issue here.

Example link, sent to DS via contextual menu:
https://torcache.net/torrent/5413F27D17 ... ent?title=[kat.ph]royalty.free.footage.time.lapse.tumbling.clouds.rar

It errors in DS, showing there as:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:FEB61C19A32BEC6940286B02FEFDCB600C6DF8E4&dn=grimm+s01e01+hdtv+xvid+lol+ettv&tr=http%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%2Fannounce

Copying the magnet link and pasting into the main DS GUI works; pasting into the SDS menubar field fails with the same error.

Once this is sorted, any chance of adding contextual menu ability to magnet links? A fair few sites are starting to go magnet-only now.

Thanks very much,

Safari 5.2 (7535.18.5); SDS 1.4.3
