Is it possible to specify the destination folder on a per torrent basis? To me this is a much needed feature for users that don't dump all torrent downloads into one main directory.

Hi Sylver!

Just purchased your app, great job you did there!

Just a quick question, when I want to download a torrent via my iPad, im getting this message: "Getting BT file - Unable to start HTTP connection".

What have I done wrong?

Hello Sylver,

Firstly, great app - I use it all the time.

One slight irritation (an issue with IOS, not your app) is having to use the touch screen to move the cursor when renaming files (especially when they're long names).
In some other apps I have (text editors, etc) they supplement the keyboard with an extra row of keys (above the standard keyboard) which include cursor movement (individual character steps and ideally word boundaries). It would be great if you could consider adding such a feature.

Also, could you perhaps consider a mechanism where you could select multiple torrents which are downloading and change the download location (instead of having to go into each one individually to change it, or changing the default download location beforehand).

If not (or perhaps also), how about having the app remember the last folder location that was selected, so that you don't have to keep navigating to the folder you wish to select each time?

Thanks again.

I'm still looking for a nice way to provide a way to optionally show an option to specify the download folder. But it's something I plan to do ...

Are you able to get the torrent file when using safari on your iPad ? Maybe there is something weird in the name of the file that is not handled correctly in SynoDS, could you send me the link to the file ?

For your first point, I have to check how to do that but honestly I'm not sure I'll spend some time on this soon (I'll put it in my "to do if I'm bored" list ;))

For the second point, check my answer to vashim66 ;)

SynoDS v1.9.9 has been submitted to Apple ...
Code: Select all
What's new :
- Added some missing server settings on DSM4.0 (BT&NZB monitored folders and Email notification)
- Fixed the timeout issue with the search module
- Added serch engine selection in the search module (need iOS 5.x)
- Improved RSS feeds reader (better compatibility, detailed view of the feeds information, category tag shown if present)
- In the file browser, don't show the delete option for files that are read only

Could you try to do the same operation from the download station using the http admin pages ?
One possible thing is that the total path length is too long, try to set a short folder path as destination (/Public for example), but I thing that in this case the error is different ...

This version has just been approved by Apple, it should be available in all the AppStores in the next hours :)

Just tried the latest V1.9.9 version.
Issue:
When using "Browser" fucntion,
if I choose "Open file with .." with appropriate App, no problem with iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1,
but failed with the new iPad, it just downloaded the file to where I didn't know.
I can't find the file everywhere in the App,
and no 3rd party App-list shown when I clicked "Open file with.."

By the way,
if the slidwshow function added to the Browser will be very nice for me.

Amazing App!

Update:
When viewing photos with "Browser",
some pictures can switch to next one by swipe it,
some can't, only switch to next by clicking "right arrow".

lately I have a problem with the downloaded files went missing, the SynoDS status is completed and seeding, the same goes when you view it on the browser, but the files/directory are not there. Some files that I inspect has incomplete pieces but SynoDS already change the status to completed, for example, total pieces 1138, downloaded pieces 1136, but the status of the download is already in seeding mode (completed), files are not there when browse the download folders. Any suggestions?

thank you for this great app.

cheers,

Michael

Thanks for the feedback !
On your iPad, check, in the SynoDS app settings, that Safari import are handled as download tasks (for nzb & torrent), elseway the nzb/torrent file will be stored as a file in the default destination folder.

For the no 3rd party App-list shown when I clicked "Open file with.." problem, it's a bug (or a "feature" ?) in Safari, it's only happening with torrent files, other files (nzb & others) are working well !

For the slideshow feature, you means in the photo viewer I guess ... It has some bugs anyway so I'm working on replacing it with a much better one (with download progress for example), but it still sometimes crash when showing huge pictures, so I still have some work on this (I hope to make it available in next update).

Sorry, it seems that it is a synology problem, not related to SynoDS app, since some people are having the same problem.

Hi - thanks for the excellent app - I use it constantly.

I have a question about downloading files from http links. It seems if the filename has a space in it then the app doesn't recognise the full URL, e.g. if I click on a link like this:

http://www.site.com/amazing file five thousand.mp3

The app passes the following to Download Station:

http://www.site.com/amazing

and truncates everything after the space.

Is this fixable?

Sorry if the question has already been asked - this thread is now extremely long!

Thanks
Malcolm

hello, but you can add to download a txt urls file that contains multiple links host?
for example via PC I can add hundreds of links by uploading a single txt file where I pasted more links.
I can not do this with synods :(
