SynoCommunity is glad to announce its new repo

Postby bud77 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 11:43 am

Hi folks,

After many months, days & night of very hard work, we are please to introduce you to our brand new repo :

http://www.synocommunity.com

This repo contains many SPKs (list available here) but the best part is that we are currently supporting ALL synology architectures (yes, even the x12+ series)

DISCLAIMER :

The SynoCommunity repository is offering packages for Synology NAS. Those packages are developped by (and for) the user community. SynoCommunity will not take responsability for any damage, data loss, resulting from installing one of those packages.
3rd party packages repos might be duplicated from those on SynoCommunity repo, and therefore create conflicts, introducing weird behaviour from those packages.
(SuperZebulon mostly)
If you are already using other repos, it is highly recommended to delete those, and the packages installed from those repos.
The packages offered by SynoCommunity have been tested, and do not interfere with official Synology packages.

If you encounter any issue, please provide all information you can gather, and transmit them through : (pick one)
-In this thread
-By MP (to meh)
-On github : https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc ... evelop/spk

On the github, you can see there is other packages incoming soon, but, due to a bug in DSM4 (at least for now) we can't release those packages, as they will not work properly -YET-

Our devs:
SuperZebulon
Diaoul
Piwi
Nounours44

On another side, if you can provide translation for each package description (supported by DSM), it will be gladly welcome

Enjoy !

EDIT :
If you want to migrate from SuperZebulon, and keep your settings, please check this post : viewtopic.php?f=190&t=50593&start=30#p194791

EDIT 2 :
Guys, we added donation buttons on the package list on our website : http://www.synocommunity.com/packages

There is several devs in the team, and each donation button will be linked to its dev/maintainer

Feel free to support their work :)

EDIT 3 :
For those having issues with permissions between all the users/folders, check this thread (unix knowledge is recommended)

http://sickbeard.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 758daecdf4

EDIT 4 :
I just created a Twitter account, for those who don't check this forum everyday

*UPDATE #2*

@bud77
I cannot get SabNzd to install... tells me port 8080 is in use. Nothing is running on port 8080. SB is on 8081.

Sick Beard migration SOLVED

user files : /var/packages/sickbeard/target/var
autoProcessTV.cfg : /var/packages/sickbeard/target/share/SickBeard/autoProcessTV

I was getting "Failed to load the package" until I did this...
remove/reinstall SynoCommunity package
load Sickbeard and run the update
Stop Sickbeard service
Copy over my backed up config.ini
Start Sickbeard to make sure it is working
Stop Sickbeard service
Copy over backed up sickbeard.db
Start Sickbeard

thx

For Sab, you most probably have something running on that port, but you don't know about it

Run in ssh/telnet the following :

netstat- an |grep 8080

If the result shows something, then you have a service running on that port, you will have to disable it to be able to use the package

Hello

Thanks for this new nice repo.

I have 209+ with DSM 3.2.1955 and using SuperZebulon Packages for Python,SabNZBD,SickBeard,CouchPotato and Headphones.

As I heard that those packages are having problems with like

- Users are not showing up in User list
- Some privilege problems on download and extract folders

on DSM 4.0, I was waiting for updated/tested packages before upgrade to DSM 4.0

Are Phyton,SabNZBD,SickBeard,CouchPotato and Headphones packages in your repository compliant with DSM 4.0 on 209+ ?

Shall I remove packages that I installed from SuperZebulon and installed yours ?

-Phyton
-SabNZBD
-SickBeard
-CouchPotato
-Headphones

Yes, and yes

All of those have been tested on DSM4

It is very highly recommended to delete packages (and repo) from Zebulon before installing ours

Also, for the "issue" you mentionned about users, they will still not show up in the user management with those
About the privileges, nothing I heard about

You might not see every package for DS509+ today, as we had a little issue with the repo, and few packages couldn't be uploaded. This will be probably solved within the next 8 hours

The 2.50-1 version of Transmission works on DSM 4.0-2219 but you have to use the synopkg.superzebulon.org/spkrepo/packages source and not packages.synocommunity.com

It would be nice if someone could fix the release on packages.synocommunity.com so that we don’t have to juggle the sources to find what we need. I have a DS211+ and have removed the old repo and package before installing from packages.synocommunity.com

The error I get after getting to pick download folder and watch folder is "installation has failed".

There seem to be more people with this problem here: http://synoblog.superzebulon.org/2012/0 ... /#comments

Thanks

As stated in the disclaimer : remove packages and repo from Zebulon, you will avoid any conflict

The transmission package provided on synocommunity repo IS working on DSM4

I told you, I did remove the old repo and package before installing from packages.synocommunity.com

There is some kind of a problem here, other people have it too as shown by my link; what can we do?

I never had Python installed from Zebulon, only the Transmission package (maybe it was bundled?). Maybe that's the problem, do I need to install Python?

Ah, no, sorry, I was mistaken with sabnzbd

There is no need of python for transmission

Could you check the file /var/log/messages after you failed to install the package ?
