DS212 CPU 100% when no activity

Postby Mylor » Tue Apr 24, 2012 5:27 pm

Hi again,

See my other post regarding slow internal transfers. That transfer has now finished but as this may be unrelated I've posted it separately. The Resource Monitor in DSM 4 is showing CPU activity permanently at 100%. I haven't initiated any actions so it should be idle. I'd reboot it but it may be doing some vital housekeeping task? What could this be?

Run the Resource Monitor application from the application bar at the top left.
If you double click on the CPU usage graph you'll see the details.

Thanks iket.

It appears convert-thumb is the culprit. Could that be why the file transfers were slow? Can I turn convert-thumb off?

I've only had the NAS a few days so I'm still learning the basics.
