Putty equivalent for SSH tunnel

Postby Jera » Mon Apr 23, 2012 4:42 pm

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum- Is there a Putty equivalent for Linux? All SSH tunnel guides seem to be written for Putty and I cannot find a Linux version....

I have tried using various commands in the terminal, but everyone likes a GUI right?....right? :)

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

man ssh

ssh -D [unused port on local computer] -2 -f -N [user]@[your_DDNS_address] [-p router port forwarded for ssh if it's not 22]

Your end of the tunnel is 127.0.0.1:[unused port you chose above] on the PC you're sitting at. The other end of the tunnel is the ssh port on the DS (22 by default).
