Hotspot Dongles

Postby Snapper » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:50 pm

Hi,

Has anyone got the WiFi hotspot feature working with a 300mbps dongle in the rear USB sockets on a DS212?

I have an Edimax dongle and whilst it gives the hotspot option in the control panel when plugged into the rear, I can't actually join the network it creates.
If I plug the same dongle in the front USB socket, it works as expected and I can connect to it...

I really want to use the front USB socket for thumb drives, so I need a dongle that works in the rear.

Cheers

Darren

Hi Darren,

I have an issue with Edimax also. I have the DS212+ kit.

I have a nano version of the Edimax and when I plug it in any USB socket, the System Information box picks up the device.

Does the device show up in your System Information box?

I cant connect no matter what port is used but that is down to a Linux issue I have discovered so many its related?

I cant help any further without going into modding your device.

Regards.
