User creation troubles!

Postby moondoggie » Wed Apr 18, 2012 4:21 pm

Hello,
I have a DS210j with dual WD 1TB Caviar Black drives. I just recently upgraded my OS to 4.x. Until that point, I had no trouble creating users while having it autopopulate their home folder in File Manager. Since the update I can still create users just fine, but mapping to them is impossible. It keeps telling me that the user doesn't exist and that I should check the spelling of the name. The original half dozen or so that I created previously still show up and can be mapped to just fine. However, any new ones don't get a folder in File Manager, and cannot be mapped to. I tried deleting one of the older users and then recreating it. It created everything but the folder in File Manager, and now I can no longer map to it.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated!

Have you set up the required privileges for the user or group? Note that the Users group privileges will trump any other privileges so if you dont want that to happen, dont check the applicable box and check it under the appropriate user of group.
