Having the same issue.

I do not think you can traceroute http, only IP addresses or www.
I am using synology ds106j and have the same ipk as you I think, the one for the risk cpu, so might be a bug with these kind of IPKs, any other IPKs which we could try?

Hello I've a little problem, I don't really understand much of ssh and those things, but I was trying to follow your guide and now I've a result that I didn't expected:

When I:

python /usr/local/pyload/pyLoadCore.py —-daemon

It Answers:

Please help me, don't know what should do now... :(

How can i check via SSH if Pyload is installed, and how does things should appear to me on my Terminal?

I can't change the port from 8000 to 5003 like you've said, how can I do that?

No problem. I was looking to see if you reach megaupload.com, which you do. I don't know what's different on your system comparing to mine.

Try running ipkg list_installed to list all packages installed and run ipkg remove on those packages. Then reinstall using the guide I updated to reflect the changes to pyload 0.4.6 that was released recently

Using home directory: /root/.pyload
You didn't set up pyload to use /usr/local/pyload/config as described on the guide but that's ok.

To restart pyload type
Code: Select all
python /usr/local/pyload/pyLoadCore.sh --quit
python /usr/local/pyload/pyLoadCore.sh --daemon

Code: Select all
cd /usr/local/etc/rc.d/
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3001640/pyLoadCore.sh

Edit the file with vi /usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/pyLoad/application.cfg and change the port. To check if pyLoad is working, click on the icon on your DiskStation.

If you want to see if it's working on your terminal, type ps | grep pyload. It should appear a line like the one below
Code: Select all
DiskStation> ps | grep pyload
 8453 root     91388 S    python /usr/local/pyload/pyLoadCore.py --daemon
 8485 root      2928 S    grep pyload

Can you explain to me how can I undo everything I've done trying to install Pyload, so I can start from scratch your tutorial?

Postby Bob_UK » Sat Jun 18, 2011 3:03 pm

I have a different kinda issue with pyload.
I have it installed OK and it's downloading.

But i can't find the downloaded files.
During setup i selected to use the directory /volume1/downloads
I have a directory named Downloads (note, case sensitive)in the root which download station was downloading to.
I have downloaded some files with pyload, but they are not in my Downloads folder.
If I login with putty
Code: Select all
NAS> cd /volume1
NAS> dir
drwxr-xr-x   16 root     root          4096 Jun 17 23:16 .

drwxrwxrwx   11 root     root          4096 May  7 19:34 video

So i seem to have two folders in root
downloads &
Downloads

So, my issue is downloaded files are not going to 'Downloads' (Which it thought it would)
I cannot access 'downloads' using file browser. It just doesn't see the directory.

I have tried changing download location in pyload using the web interface, and the setting under General.
But when i use the browse button, i can go to parent directory and choose 'Downloads', yet when i click OK the field in the gui is empty. So if i type volume1/Downloads it accepts it. But if i download a package it does not save to 'Downloads' Presumably still saving to 'downloads'

Please help someone, (im a bit of a linux noob)

Great job! I tried to install pyLoad v0.4.8 on my ds212j disk station. The installation processes show exactly the same output as instructed. However, I have one problem with the automatic unrar after downloading.

The automatic unrar will not work if I use the automatic startup script listed here.

It will work, however, if I manually type in the command python /usr/local/pyload/pyLoadCore.py —-daemon in SSH.

Everything else works perfectly. Please let me know the possible fix. Thanks a lot!

hi guys,

first of all thx for great guide. It finally works now, but with one defect (see below). Do you know how to correct it? I don't know what it means.

thx
