Hi

The init of local hard disk's is done in a JAVA environment, so make sure that you have the latest version of java and that your Safari allows that the JAVA session is running in your Safari.

No experience with Macs here, but do you have to enable the 'Mac file service' for that ?
(If I understand correctly ; File Station on a Windows PC does show the 'My Computer' with all shares on the Windows PC, but when using a Macbook you only see the DS folders and not the shares on your Macbook ??)

Type "Java Preferences" on Spotlight, then check the option "enable applet plug-in and Web start applications". Java was updated yesterday in my Mac and this option was disabled today, I don't know why. That solved my problem.

Due to the Java trojan floating around, Apple updated Java three times in the last week or so. I wouldn't doubt they turned that off in one of them.

In the event you want to disable Java on the Mac for security reasons, you can still copy things back and forth from the Mac to the DS using Finder, without using File Station. In fact, I prefer to do it that way.

Look on the left side of the Finder window. You should see your Diskstation. Click to open it and you should see the shared folders on the DiskStation. Click to open the one you want to use.

Now open another finder window to the folder you want to use on the Mac.

Drag files back and forth between the two windows.

So it appears this broke again with the last java update. Can anyone else confirm? Any ideas how to fix since there are no java options left in OS X anymore?
