It is nice you can extract .rar files to any folder on your Synology, but would it also be possible to use Par to fix broken .rar files through the program?

Unfortunately it's not possible as the "File Station" from Synology is not supporting this

Hi pedro,
push notification will need :
- Changes in the synology firmware (to send some notifications to a server when a download is finished)
- A server on my side which will receive every names of finished downloads (to send it to apple's push notification server).

It's certainly possible but will require some "not so easy" configuration in the Synology server ... Setting the server to send you an email when a download is finished seems to be a good alternative (there are some applications allowing to send you some notifications when you get some new email, using a dedicated mailbox for this purpose seems OK )

I did not imagine it could be so complicated to use push notifications. If it works that way, just forget it.
The mail notification sounds like a good alternative.

I am new to the synology world but thought your app would be a great enhancement.

Unfortunately I am having a few problems, and not sure where I have gone wrong. I can connect to my diskstation over wifi and 3G in or out the house. I am logging in using the admin user name and password. When i initially set up the diskstation I used the dsm that came with it but have subsequently upgraded to 4.0.

When using the search function within the more tab I get an error that says "Search not supported on this DSM, update to DSM 3.1 or better" and when I go to browser I get an error "Warning, user has no share access"

I am not really sure what I am doing wrong as I am using the admin account with rights to everything.

Is this anything you can help with?

Hey Dominic !
For other people, I discussed with dominic by email and the conclusions seems to be that if the user don't have access to the File Station, user will not be able to configure the default download folder from SynoDS ! I've made some changes in SynoDS to solve this ... The workaround for now is to enable FileStation access to the user !

The download link from an rss feed is send to the download station as torrent file but the only problem is the file stay in inactive ..
Some ideas ?

Is the issue happening also with other download tasks or only with this tracker (also when added from web browser) ?
If the problem is specific to this tracker, it may means that the tracker is only allowing some torrent clients and the one used in the Synology is not allowed (but this would be surprising) !

Are you sure that you are using the same user when connecting with the admin pages or with SynoDS ?

You should ask Synology if you want support for some additional direct download server ! Once it will be added by Synology, SynoDS will automatically be able to handle that (no need to wait for an update of SynoDS )

I can search and download fine through the web search and also when I log into the download station via DSM but not with the direct search in the app. I've tried reinstalling but that doesn't fix it. I'm running DSM 3.1.

Any ideas?

Try disabling some search engines in the download station settings (from the http admin pages). This will allow the Synology device to answer the request before the 30s timeout in SynoDS. I've increased the timeout delay for next update, it should solve this issue !
