I'm getting tired of this unsolved issue. The least Synology can do is provide us a downgrade solution ! Hurry up !

Update from Synology (Ms Chang) :

"We checked Surveillance will ask camera's motion detection status actively to cause this issue happen. We will fix this issue in hot fix version, we sorry for the inconvenience caused and thank you for the patience."

So there will be a hotfix soon ....

Just the same problem with D-Link DCS-2121 and DS-411j. Both with latest f/w. Waiting for a fix!

My temporary solution is to use camera as "User Defined" with "Source path" like "/video/mjpg.cgi?profileid=1" + use Motion detection from SS.

Hello all,

I have tried the temporary solution given by "parity" (user defined cam with path /video/.....) and it works fine for me. No more picture jump that triggers unuseful motion detection...
I will keep it untill the next release of the DSM.
Thanks to "parity"
Try it, it works !

I wrote to the Asussupport and this is what he said:

"Hello Xxxx,

Thanks for providing the forum thread.

I have confirmed that this is a known issue and we have already prepared a patch that will be included in an update shortly.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Daniel
Support"

I hope this patch works

Hi,

Similar issue here. 3 Axis cams on SS (using motion detection from cam). After update I got a lot of false motion triggers. Then I logged in the webportal of the axis cams and saw that the sensitivity was changed (by SS ??) to super sensitive. When I changed it back, everything is ok... until I change a setting in the SS settings. It seems after saving/changing settings in SS, it initializes the cams and changes the sensitivity in the camera itself. Not sure on other brands...

Hotfix is available !!
If you upgrade to DSM 4.0-2219, Surveillance station is automatically upgraded and the hotfix is included.

This resolved my issue !!

It works perfect after the new "Version: DSM 4.0-2219; Build Date: 2012/04/17". Thanks Synology! :D

Hi all,
New DSM solved the cam issue, no more video glitches generating detections. However have you noticed DSCAM behaviour on ipad ? Videos of detections are presented with strange dates and times !

+1
Yes! I saw a few days ago as well. I thought it was because i was in a different time-zone then the DS/cams.. but yes, weird timestamps...
