How are you getting on with these HDDs? I have just purchased a DS212j/6tb from Amazon (UK), to find these drives installed. I was a little surprised given these are not on the compatibility list, and when I contacted Synology support they advised me they don't bundle devices with drives so either Amazon have done this or their supplier has. I contacted them to see what they say, but I'm not sure how comfortable I am using these unconfirmed drives! Thanks, Linus

I have the DS410, RAID 5, upgraded 4 2TB, to 4 3TB, one by one, letting the NAS rebuild 4 times, then a 5th time to increase the actual capacity.

But it seems like things are slow when opening and listing directories, takes 10-15 seconds to list medium size directories, even after the drives should have "warmed" up as I did other HD operations to warm it up.

How did you upgrade your drives? 1 by 1? I'm wonder why my directory browsing and listing performance seems to have taken a big hit after the upgrade.

Thanks for any help!

Do you still have these problems with these drives? I am considering buying them for a 1512+/1812+, and I already got a hint resuming from hibernation also is (irritating) slow with these disks. I am easily irritated when I have to wait for a computer to respond
2x 1812+ + 16 disks; damn, they are sexy :D --- My nick? The name of my youngest dog, after 30 years of dogs, by far the sweetest baby we've ever had. What is going on with hard drive prices? 13 months ago, I bought a 7K3000 3TB drive for £120.

Now the slower 5K3000 version is £150!! This is crazy.
