Synology Packages - Wishlist

Two simple and quite fundamental network services. It really can't be that difficult to create packages for them...

An NTP Server
A DNS Server

Also if you could enhance the DHCP server a tiny bit to allow user configurable scope options (I need to be able to configure option 150 for IP phones to boot off) I'd be able to get rid of my other servers and just run a Syno environment

Dear Synology,

Please add some extra features in the upcoming release for 4.x like:

- installable system drivers (.so) for USB based serial devices
- installable system drivers for full MySQL support under Python
- extra video encoder from Axis like P7214

Or the like for easier sorting of media files (Movies/Tv Series/Music and Pictures).

Example:
1.Download a file with the Download station. If the file is media file and thus recognized as such by Filebot (much like media files are recognized by the media server) it will be checked versus IMDb or TheTVDB and renamed to correct format and sorted into correct folder.

2.Copy file (video/music/picture) to Media Import folder after which "Filebot" picks it up and does it's thing. Videos get sorted in the correct folder and sub folder hierarchy. Pictures grouped by dates of import. Music gets sorted by artist, album and tittle.

First, it would REALLY be nice when I quit Audio Station if it remembered that I had Personal and/or Shared Playlist (or Media Server) expanded, and that I DIDN'T have Internet Radio expanded. It always opens up with everything except Internet Radio closed. It's really aggravating to have to set up Audio Station every time it's launched.

Next, I would like to be able to have separate default views (as remember last setting) for Library, All Music, By Folder, By Album, By Artist, By Genre, Random100, Recently Added, Personal Playlist, Shared Playlist and Media Server. I like to view some as Icons (cover art), some as Lists, and some as Coverflow.

Having placed a ticket about this matter, I have had polite rebuffs for ages now for what by all standards is an essential, basic feature for any audio player!

GET THE AUDIO GAPLESS PLAYBACK FIXED!

I am starting to look at QNAP, Netgear and others to get a NAS that does the job Synology is shamefully unable to get right.

Please compile Airfoil speaker to nice package för DSM 207 and 209.

i also agree with that, but i think it would be a bit easier to implement a illient SysAID package, as there is a compiled version for linux available. (imho there is only java and tomcat5 needed)

So for smaler networks this would be appritiated by any admin to have a free (100 nodes) Troubleticket/Inventory/Helpdesk tool like one of the mentioned above.
