Following 3.2 upgrade, if I try to access the DSM via DDNS (ie: when I'm at work) I can open the control panel, but as soon as I try to use anything (eg: download station, resource monitor, media server config screen) I get a window popping up saying

"You are not authorized to use this service"

and I am automatically logged out of DSM.

This worked fine in 3.1

Any ideas ?

I submitted a post on a related subject, but it's not yet out. After I updated DiskStation to version 3.2-1922 it cannot update my IP address with No-IP.com using DDNS. It gives an error message about a DDNS "broken server", when the access to No-IP.com otherwise is without problems. I wonder if there's something broken with DDNS. It could cause the problem you're having if it doesn't update your IP with your DDNS server.

Have you recently updated your browser?

I had this issue with DSM 3.1 as well, using Firefox. There is a setting "Enhance browser compatibility by skipping IP checking" under Control Panel --> DSM Settings --> Security. After I checked this box, the issue disappeared.

I have same problem with Safari under OSX Lion. This is definitively a bug in 3.2.
You shall not be forced to lower your browser security in order to access the DS manager!

Ok so I guess we sit tight for a fix for this issue.

I also have been getting the "broken server" error when the DS tries to update DDNS when it boots, although DDNS is actually working..

If this is with NO-IP, then it is a server issue on their end (there is another thread on this in this group). I had the same issue, but today it is working.

The "DDNS broken" server issue was a problem with NO-IP.

The "You are not authorized to use this service" error isn't though, and if I understand vp-synology correctly it's a bug in 3.2 that needs fixing.

One difference though, I am actually using the IP address, not the DNS.
This has happened to me too (first time though) File browser, control panel do this. Audio Station Just hangs.
Tried two users (admin and one other), No differences.
Cleared cookies and restarted browser, no go.
FireFox 7.0.1, I get to the desktop.
IE 8 just kills it on login.

UPDATE: logged in fine at home last night.
My server shuts down each day and starts up in the morning. Today I had no issues logging into the DS at home and at work. What ever went wrong is OK now. It sounds like some service failed to start up yesterday.

I'm getting the same issue / error (you are not authorized... etc) now that I've just upgraded.

Everything was working fine before. I am also getting the problems updating DDNS but I'm not using No-IP I'm using DynDNS.

Please fix this Synology.

This is causing major problems for those of us managing servers.

Is there a sign-up page / location that we could subscribe to be notified by e-mail, when this bug is fixed.

I believe this is caused by requests hitting the DSM from more than one IP. I started having this issue some days ago, out of the blue. During the process of finding the cause it hit me; I had just recently connected a second network interface (wifi) to the local network on my PC.

Normally, I wouldn't think this should present any problems, but in the case of the DSM we are dealing with a web interface. Session details will then, in some way, be assigned to the IP you are connecting from. In that case, it will be pretty bad if you suddenly have two different IP's connecting you to the server - one being logged in, one not.

Example:

My Synology NAS: 192.168.0.10
...
My cabled NIC: 192.168.0.15
My wireless NIC: 192.168.0.16

I disconnected one of the network interfaces (wifi), and I haven't seen this error since.

A different approach to fixing this issue would be to use the external address when connecting to DSM, making it log user sessions to your external address in all cases. I've tested this with both network interfaces active, and it also works fine.
