SyncBackPro? & GoodSync?

Postby Grasshopper » Wed Mar 28, 2012 10:04 am

Hi all,

I am looking at available backup and file syncronisation options for my DS411+.

I have come across some software, either of which might be useful for backing up and synchronising with a Diskstation:

SyncBackPro

http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/s ... tures.html

GoodSync

http://www.goodsync.com/how-it-works/key-features

Am I correct in thinking that these programs should be able to backup to a Diskstation using the DiskStation FTP facility (or is that just for 'external'/interenet access) ?

And has anyone used either of these and can comment as to their suitability for backing up and synchronising folder structures over a local network with WIndows PCs ?

Any comments gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Do you really need a professional progam with loads of features like those or is it just for everyday backing up home PC's to the NAS ??

NAS : DS212j with 2 ST2000DL003 in SHR / DSM 4.2-3211
LAN : Fritz!Box 7170, 4 Devolo, 1 Icidu 200Mbps AV homeplugs, 2 5-port switches
HW : Conceptronic CHD3NET, ACRyan Playon!HD, Eminent EM7075dts, Wii U, PS2
