Hi;
i have DS-211j and updated to DSM4.0-2198
Found that there are multiple lines in the /var/log/messages that the machine have a process named 'synorelayd' that keep on checking for connection every hr (exactly 1 hr between each try in my case) and hence wake up my HDD from hibernation(if i set it to 30 mins hibernate for testing)
My usual setting will be 2hrs for non-activity to hibernation, and because of this hourly checking, my HDD doesn't hibernate at all.
Did some debug, finally found out that the CloudStation feature is the one causing the hourly checking for connection. I believe this checking is to Synology server for the ezCloud ID services.
Is there a way to define the time for each try for the check to synology server?
I can't find it on any of the setting page.
My main motivation to upgrade to DSM4.0 is due to the cloudstation, but looks like this kind of checking doesn't serve me well.
As for now, i just turn off Cloudstation feature, and use my old way of assessing the disk thru filestation for files update and pulling.
It will be good someone from the forum or Synology can look into this as i would think hourly check connection to synology server is abit too much from DS itself, a option should be available for home/soho user to delay checking frequency for certain hrs or once a day, same as update frequency for the DDNS service.
thanks
