[Updated] Photo Station missing from everywhere

Hello. I have had my ds410 for a year now. never had an issue. I've always had photo station running. I have some albums for public view.

I upgraded the DSM last week to the newest version. I also got a notification that photo station had a package upgrade. i went to the package center, upgraded photo station.

Today I wanted to add more picture in photo station. normally i would go to control panel and click the photo station icon. i see the app icons are gone from control panel now.

I opened the drop down menu (name?) in the upper left corner, and i see download manager, i see surveillance station. but no photo station.

I go to the package center. photo station says running. i stopped it and restarted it. I restarted the dsm. still nothing.

I looked at my url history and found my /photo url and it just brings up a white page.

1.) whats going on? anyone have an idea on how I get the photo station app to appear anywhere?
2.) I thought about uninstalling photo station from the package center and re-installing it, but will i lose all my existing folders and pictures?

Fixed the issue.

Uninstalling photo station and then reinstalling it put its icon everywhere I would expect it. My photo albums are still there.

it looks like upgrading to the latest dsm while photo station had a package upgrade available caused this, or the upgrade process itself didnt work correctly.

All my videos from the albums were deleted. pictures remain.

either this was caused from what I just did.

or its caused by me trying to convert video thumbnails for mobile. and they are all quicktime.

nevermind looks like media indexing service is running on its own and im slowly seeing my videos again.

should have never doubted you synology!
