Personal Photo Station : The service is disabled now

Postby mrw8 » Fri Jan 13, 2012 8:57 am

Hi guys,

I got a DS212 (DSM 3.2 - 1955) this Tuesday. Everything is setup as I wished, created users accounts, backup up all my stuff. Everything was running perfectly until yestarday.

Today it is still the case except for personal photo station for all users as well as admin account. When I click on Photo Station - usersname icon it opens a web page and instead of access to personnal photos like it did yesterday I got the message "The service is disabled now".
The URL says : http://myservername/photo/report.php?no ... e_disabled

I have double checked the settings, everything looks ok. I tried to disable and enable again the service with no luck. I have no clue what can cause this problem so if you have any idea please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated !

Exact same problem with a DS410 / DSM 3.2-1955

It works fine for Administrator, but not for any other users.

In control panel/Application privileges there is not option to grant access to Photo Station, but I have granted the user access to everything, and still receive "The service is disabled now" on url: http://MyDS410/photo/report.php?nosrv=t ... e_disabled

Any suggestions on how to resolve this :?:

I have similar problem...

The personal photo station seems to work only with the admin and newly created users.

My quick config:
DS1010+ DSM3.2-1955
Photo Station, Personal Photo Station, User home enabled; access right to the "photo" directory under user home set to all 777.

Appreciate if anyone can provide me with a solution.

Did anyone get an answer back about this problem? I've just updated to 4.0 and now have the same problem only in admin or with system admin group ticked can I access the Photo Station. Please share if you have a solution.

Problem solved.

Using local ip (192.*) to login admin successfully, after that found that synology has blocked my router ip access, cleared the ip block solved the issue.

Did you try to clear your browser's cache ?
It seems that this trigger a problem when upgrading photostation version.

Just tried flushing the cache. No improvement. I just found out a shared folder is no longer visible as well. Sort of wish I had not moved to 4.0 so quickly. I have a feeling I'll just need to save, delete and recreate a bunch of shares, users, etc. It might be the path of least resistance. -peter

Okay I thought I checked the obvious before posting, but the personal photo station option was not enabled (I assume this was a function of the photostation patch after the 4.0 release). I suspect I thought I checked it from having checked it while troubleshooting the initial login issue with photostation and 4.0 release. In any case all is well now.

The shared folder access issue required recreation of the shared folder. I don't know why, but it was easier to recreate it than play with it any further.
