Stopping more SPAM

Postby ReInstall » Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:56 pm

Hi,

I'm using the spam filter option in the mail server options, which is stopping some spam, but I'm still getting a lot of junk slipping by spamassassin. (could be 30 a day!!)

While not a huge problem when retrieving emails on my desktop pc, on my phone its a nightmare!

How can boost the stopping power of spamassassin?
I've tried the sa-learn feature, which didn't work at all.

Please help!!
Paul

I'm no expert on this, but I think you might benefit from using an SPF record.

I use Google Apps and have this line in my DNS:
Code: Select all
@      TXT      v=spf1 include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all

But as I said, I'm no expert on this, so either you have to read up on SPF records or perhaps someone in this forum is an expert on this :)

I also have this problem. Some of my users are used to send spam emails. How can I know the affected accounts? Thanks.
