Is anyone suffering from slow performance within OSX? Lion cannot seem to push more than 20 - 30MB/s to my DS411. However, within Windows, using Intel's NASPT tool I can get 45 - 50MB/s!
Lion's networking seems awfully slow.

I have the same performance issues with OSX 10.7.3 and DS411j.
I've tried AFP, but max out around 20Mb/s but usually much lower... that seems slow with 4 spindles and 1Gb networking between them...
FTP is faster, but not by much.
I upgraded to DSM 4.0 and the performance didn't change...

Same story here. Using DS-111 with a Barracuda Green 2TB drive, which should just be fast enough to saturate the capabilities of the DS-111, namely 110MB/s download speed for a large file.
HOWEVER, from MAC OSX Lion I get 20 MB/s down and 5 up using afp and 20/20 using smb. This is with DSM4.0 and indexing reports it's idle (as does cpu usage).
From/to the latest core i7 Mac Mini with SSD drive, using gigabit connection through Apple Extreme router.
I seem to recall better numbers in the past, but didn't write anything down...anyway, I am not impressed as it stands!

Same here, maxing out at around 17 to 18MB/s with a DS411J on a GB network with OSX 10.7.3 (Lion).
Haven't tried with a PC yet to compare.
Anyone had any luck improving on this?

I have no issues with Lion and AFP with my DS1511+. I'm able to do 80MB-100MB/sec consistently when wired into the network. On the flip side, CIFS with Lion is MUCH slower than AFP in my experience.
