I am still having problems with push and skype notifications with my DS211+ on 4.0-2198 DSM.
The router config with Airport is also fiction.
I can't get them to work.

Anyone have similiar problems ?

Re: DS212j: Connecting to Internet

OK, after going round and round with this issue, I'm pretty sure it is the stupid 2Wire modem/router that is the source of the problem. I can't get anything, wired or wireless to work with it. The devices that have been working are still working, but I can't connect any new devices, wired or wireless to the modem/router. There are no visible problems, the modem is just not working correctly.
Solution to the problem; change ISP.

I'm still having problems with e-mail notifications after upgrading from DSM 3.2 to DSM 4.0-2198. e-mail notifications worked fine prior to the upgrade to DSM 4.0-2198.

Exact error message is: Failed to send email. (535 #5.7.0 Authentication failed).

I have tried re-entering all email credentials and the problem persists.

Any other ideas?

I've only recently purchased my DS1512+ and set it up. Everything was working well until I setup the DS Firewall. I had all of the relevant ports forwarded to my router via the EZ Internet setup, and then followed the Synology tutorial on securing the DS for Internet etc. Basically, I could login to DS via the browser, but accessing the DS via my NAS media player stopped working. Turning off 'Deny Access' in the DS Firewall settings would fix everything. I'm up to date on the DSM and was wondering if there is something extra I should be allowing in the DS Firewall settings?

Hi - I have the same problem. I have now upgraded to 4.0-2228, and have tried the iptables trick listed earlier in the thread, but still have the "Failed to connect to server" error when I try and find packages, upgrade DSM (and I suspect when the antivirus package tries to upgrade its definitions - it is not finding these), or register my IP address.

I can log in as root and ping the external internet, and access photos etc. remotely, but nothing apparently from within DSM.

Any suggestions?

I am having a similar problem with 2228 on a 412+. I am in the process of setting it up and Volume1 is reported crashed. The system partion failed. I try clicking on the link "Repair the system partition" but all I get is "Connection failed. Please check your network settings". the link is apparently trying to connect to DSM itself - but no go :-(

As far as I know I did not set up any firewalling just DHCP and a password.
