Slow upload Speeds

Postby gjones3536 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 10:33 pm

Uploading data to the DS1511+ is at no more than 10.4 MB/Second. I will take 24 hours to up load 600 GB to this disk station. Is this the norm? Is there anything I can do to increase the write spend to this NAS server? Thanks

Are you sure you are connected with a gigabit link between PC and NAS?
It seems that somewhere inbetween the connection runs at 100 Mbps.

The only think between the PC and NAS is a Linksys Wireless - G Router.model no. WRT54GS. Could this be the problem? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a Macbook Pro i5 and a DS111 with a Western Digital caviar Green 2 TB drive and I get no more than 10 MB/sec. This is even if i plug into my wifi router with an ethernet cord. I am running the latest Mac OS X Lion. I cannot find any good solutions. Please let me know if you resolved your issue!

I am experiencing a very similar problem with my new DS212j. Both read and write speed looks to be capped at ~10-11 MB/s.

My DS is connected to a gigabit switch, along with my desktop PC and laptop. I have made sure that everything is 1.0 Gb/s compatible and also tested a file transfer between my desktop and laptop (achieved speeds of roughly 50 MB/s).

I tried turning on jumbo frames and the various MTU settings (on both the DS and my desktop) but nothing seems to change. The DS reports that it is running on a gigabit network.

All of a sudden, I'm having the same problem... DS211+ was running just fine, my main computer is a Mac 10.7.2, connected via GBit Ethernet (wired). Running latest DSM and all, I was getting fine speeds, and all of a sudden, my sppeds when copying files to the Synolgy dropped to 3MB/sec. No idea what's causing this...anyone?

FWIW, I was able to somewhat remedy the problem by turning Jumbo Frames OFF in the network settings on the synology. They are now at their default value, and I am getting upload speeds of about 30MB/s. Which is 10x better than before, but still way below what I used to get. Bummer.
