I would like a nice shiny NAS and have been told that the DS212+ is extremely good device and would like to know a bit more about it.
I already have a USB hard drive which I would like to drop the contents of it on to the NAS. It has all my MP3's, Video, Documents and Photo's.
I use file structures which are relatively nested, for instance:
>Audio
>> MP3s
>>> B
>>>> The Beatles
>>>>> Abbey Road
>>>>>> track01.mp3
I want the NAS device to always be available to wired and wireless PC's/laptops (Windows XP, Vista and newer) as a mapped drive and be able to get access to all folders just as if it was a local drive at any time.
My old USB drive is always plugged in to my PS3 and I would like to be able to play my music, videos and photos exactly the same as I do now on my PS3.
My questions are
1. For the purposes I have mentioned is this a good drive to get
2. Will anything complain about the file structure I have. for instance will I be able to play an album on my PS3. I have 10's of thousands of songs and a flat structure would be almost impossible to manage. Will it be easy to get my PS3 to point to the device and find and play track01.mp3 as mentioned above
Nice
