After installing the 'Synology Assistant' on my Notebook the software can find the Synology NAS, but will not give me the option to install the DSM. Instead it says the status is 'Ready' and if I double click it I am only presented with the options to connect and map drives, but not to install the DSM.
If I try to log in (ssh or over the web user interface) with the admin account and an empty password, my login is refused.
The light on the NAS itself is blinking orange. Resetting the NAS and reinstalling the client software did not change a thing.
Is something wrong with the disk? What account/password should be available, if I have never been prompted with the 'one-click install'? How can I force the 'one-click install'?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Have you tried to press twice the reset button? (see the manual for details)

If you have a possibility to plug the HDD to a PC, try to wipe the partition table and/or the whole disk, and retry.
