1. better scheduler (Speed1, Speed2, Speed3, Speed4)
simplifiy Settings/General, rename Download Schedule to Scheduler and allow just one option: Enable Scheduler. Schedule Plan should allow multiple alternative speeds (4 should cover all needs, it will be 2 rows of 3 colored icons so UI doesn't grow too much). Max upload rate and max download rate on just 1 line each, with 4 squares (SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4) each, to save UI space.

2. NZB search
There are many websites available to do that

3. Download Protocol Priority
A new option that can be activated and setup to say FTP tasks > NZB > Bittorrent if they are all running together (this could be customized to say NZB > FTP > BT or other combinations).

Seeding rules-Auto stop task !!

Postby jubaz » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:43 am

Hi.

I dont know if theres a fix for this allready somehow,
but this is really annoying.

Instead of stopping torrents when both condition are fulfilled.
It should rather be like this

Auto stop task:

share ratio =100%
"And/Or checkbox"
seeding time reaches = forever

Allow compatibility and upload with Vuse torrent site files like XYZ.vuse .

Vuse have about 15 torrent sites that you can load to their platform.

Piratebay and Torrentz are the main ones missing

I would add support for the remaining of these.

The Download Station should be made compatible with File Station links, either those from the new Share Link Manager (DSM 4.0), or the native download links visible from the file properties.

This would allow DiskStations to exchange files with each others easily and securely over the Internet.

User Download Quota

Postby Synologuy » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:21 pm

Please implement a download quota per user, similar to the user storage quota. It would be nice to be able to limit the amount users can download per day/week/month. Currently the only control is to disable the user account. Unless I'm mistaken.

Loving the switch to Download Station but I'm really missing (from uTorrent):

- Ability to move downloads up/down and top/end of the download queue
- Ability to specify that RSS downloads go straight to the top of the queue

Would be great if these could make it in and seem like they should be an easy mod (of course, I'm not the software engineer!)

I often download torrents containing large numbers of media files.

I would like to be able to begin watching the first file that gets to 100% before the other files have finished. Basically, I want download Station to move the files to the final location as it finishes each one, I don't want to have to wait for the entire torrent to finish before it makes the files available.

At the moment the "priority" setting is largely pointless because even if I set a file as "high" priority I still can't watch it until all of the "low" priority files have completed as well.

I agree. This is very annoying that you have to download the complete torrent before you can start examining what you've downloaded. The files downloaded are for some reason invisible until the download is complete.

Please add the ability to enter credentials into the Youtube plugin so we can download Youtube videos that require an account (ie: videos that have been restricted for an age check by signing into Youtube).

As already mentioned by some before, I'd like to have several schedule plans.
For example, there are some files I want to download immediately, while there are others I don't need immediately so I can schedule them at night.
We have a limited download capacity but files downloaded at night only count half.

RSS support for aggregated torrents

Postby gfalgiano » Sat Mar 10, 2012 9:19 am

I was really excited to use the RSS feature for torrents in my DS1512+, but was disapointed to find out that it didn't support my use case. I use a service called showrss to create a single rss link for TV shows I regularly download. I currently drop this rss HTTP link into uTorrent and it downloads my shows automatically. I was hoping that the Synology product would do the same.

Any chance this capability could be added? :D By the way, I'm using DSM 4.0

gfalgiano, Download Station has had RSS support for some time, not sure how you could have missed that.
DS111 (DSM 4.2) and DS109 (DSM 4.2), both connected to gigabit ethernet and wireless lan.
