DL Station Security - Are my Personal Pics, Vid,etc accessib

with using Download Station setting downloaded files to be placed in a sub directory, does using this make my personal photos, videos, documents, etc. in higher directories accessible to other peers? I believe only files that I obtain through download station (torrents) become available to other peers. But for how long? What happens if I move the file to another directory? Does the new directory become accessible to other peers (people/pc's on the internet)?

Any help understanding this would be great.
