Has anyone had any experience with getting one of the Geovision fisheye cameras to work with surveillance station?

Running DSM4 Beta \ Surveillace Station 5 - and still no builtin support for Geovision cameras :\ ... I recently picked up a Geovision FE110 (affordable megapixel 360 degree Fisheye Cam) to watch the forrest critters that come down to the deck in safety, cowering inside my house. My dog likes to sit outside during the day - and this cam helps me keep track of her. I've tested surveillance station with my Toshiba IK-WB16AW and it works just fine - even though SM5 doesn't directly support it. Has anyone been able to get Geovision cams to work in either 3.2 or 4beta ?

She likes the cone of shame!.... I take it off and she stares at me until I put it back on ... She thinks it's a hat. Sadly - she won't need it much longer and I get to put up with her staring at me again.
Would love to motion capture her movements - or that of the bears and raccoons that occasionally walk past the upper deck with DSM ... I hope Synology greatly expands their cheap-cam support soon.

Did you have any success with the Geovision and your Synology box? I've got my eye on a new Geovision cam but no compatibility is a deal killer.

No GeoVision support for Synology at the moment. You can use the GeoVision bundled NVR software instead, or Milestone software.

I really wish Synology would simply list the Fisheye cameras that ARE compatible with Surveillance Station on the company's official camera matrix.

It can't be that hard -- and there's no logical reason why every user should have to look through hundreds of cameras -- just to determine if two or three are Fisheye and can be dewarped by Surveillance Station.

Geovision cameras and systems are great, I would suggest shopping around a bit before you decide what to buy, I get the systems for my business here [mod note: link removed]. Oh and using the cameras to keep an eye on your dog is awesome! The cone of shame made me laugh

Don't hold your breath. Personally, have not used Synology SS, but guessing it's a re-hash of the NUUO software/GUI. As a NUUO Systems Integrator notice allot of similarity. The Synology supported camera list seems virtually identical to NUUO's. So, if NUUO doesn't support it, it likely won't happen since GV and NUUO are competitors in the NVR world. If a camera is ONVIF certified, there's a slim chance it could work unofficially. It's unfortunate since I too have a couple GV's that would like supported w/ Synology.

A crude work-around Synology could use is to support cameras that can utilize RTSP streaming protocol. Virtually all newer cameras do. Of course, that would exclude certain features like PTZ, de-warping, presets, etc, but at least the video/audio content is available for processing & backup. Also, utilizing the RTSP format would not require a licensing fee.

i got some of my geovision cameras to work during testing with my synology surveillance station. the SD200s model, no idea how stable, for the onvif seems ok, albeit lack of camera motion sensing support.
