PS3 Paused videos stop playing once resumed.

I have searched google and this forum to try and find an answer but have not come up with anything that helps.

This started after I updated my DS410 to the newest DSM software. If I am streaming a video to my PS3 and I have to pause it for more than say 30 seconds, when I press play again the video closes and I am taken back to the list of videos on my NAS (I am still connected to the media server). When I play the video again it starts from the beginning rather than continue from where I had it paused. Also during playback, a few minutes after starting a video I will get a message saying that the PS3 has disconnected from the media server yet the video will continue to play just fine, until I pause it.

The PS3 and the DS410 are both hooked up to the same Gigabit bridge, so they have a hard wired connection between the two. I have no stuttering or buffering issues even when streaming 1080p Blu-ray rips. (4.1 profile h264)

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone seen another thread with someone else having a similar issue? Before upgrading I had no problems. I could keep a video paused all night and continue it in the morning.

Well, hopefully Synology just fixed my problem for me. I logged in remotely to my NAS to check some settings and the uptime and I saw that a new update was available and ready to be installed. (I was on 1922 and this update is for 1955) So when I get home I will test out the video playback. I hope this update fixes my problem.

The newest update didn't help. The video still closes after being paused

I don't have this issue with PS3 Media Server or Playon running on my desktop.

I am having the same issue. Synology DS411j streaming to a PS3. When a movie is paused for a bit and then resumed, I get disconnect error and am returned to the list of movies. If I replay the movie it starts it over from the beginning.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have this issue and it drives me nuts, I have DS411+ and this happened on DSM3.1 and now also 3.2. If I pause any video file (MKV,AVI...)that I am steaming via the synology DLNA server for more than 30 secs and resume it will just stop playing after a couple of seconds. This is a Synology issue as this happens when steaming to Samsung All Share (D8000) and also WDTV which rules out the media player. Has anyone found a fix for this ?

I'm having the same issue. It's really annoying. I submitted a ticket to support referring to this forum topic for details. Hopefully they have an answer, or at least acknowledge the problem and can give an eta. If you haven't opened a support ticket it might help if they have tickets from more than one person. Not sure, but couldn't hurt.

Happens to me... has been this way for some time, I have a DS-1512+ and I also am using Gigabit Ethernet. Streaming is perfect, but if I pause for more than a few seconds, resume will crash me back to starting over. So I've taken to pressing Display when I pause, so that when I come back from the crapper I can see the timestamp and quickly get back to my movie.

FIX THIS SYNOLOGY, its annoying!!

Hi,

I've a DS212 and the same issue. Watching Movies on My Samsung TV is great but after pausing for some time the movie won't continue. Instead it starts from the beginning and I can't jump to the last position I've watched. Both the TV and the DS are connected to a wired gigabit LAN.

Would be great if anyone could help.
