Hitachi hard drive firmware won't update

I have tried to update the firmware on my Hitachi HDS723030ALA640 (7k3000 3tb 7200 rpm) drives and Hitachi's Hi-Test updating program wont detect the drives nor will it detect the drives in their DOS program. I had to install a fresh copy of XP on a desktop because Hi-test wont work on Vista or 7 and that didnt work.

I was able to detect some 7k3000 2tb 7200 rpm drives in DOS by hooking them up do a desktop but not the 3tb. The DOS program wouldnt detect the drive via e-sata...only sata.

Has anyone been able to update their 3tb Hitachi drives?

The disks I own are:
HDS722020ALA330
HDS5C3020ALA632
I believe firmware updates of HDD's are the same as SSD's so you need to connect them to SATA interface, not eSATA.

I don't have the firmware for those drives. I only have them for the 2tb 7k3000 and 3tb 7k3000. Sorry.

This is for planetbrian. I'm looking to get the most up to date firmware for the Hitachi 7K3000 (HDS732020ALA640, 0F12450). You mentioned that you had it. Can you get it to me somehow? HGST is a little tight-fisted with it. I just joined the forum so it looks like I cannot PM you. Maybe you can PM me instead? Thanks for any help you can offer.
