Its not a good enough alternative if your using sickbeard/couchpotato. DownloadStation will not post process anything, so youll need a third program that handles .par .part files to unpack. It doesnt know what its downloading either, so everything will end up in the same folder and that will probably make a mess of everything sooner or later (SB and CP renaming, scanning same files etc)
Also ive never gotten any better speeds in download than i get with SABnzbd+. although i dont have the best connection in the world it peaks out on 1.8MB/s, a good 20% better than any other client ive tried.
Im using SB and CP with torrentsearch active and dumping to a folder DS is watching atm, but hopefully that will never kick in and is a backup solution for those really hard to find things anyways.

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently using SAB & SB on DSM 3.2, I generally see 3.0MB/s download speed, with DS I can hit as high as 6.0MB/s, but I see what your saying about the post processing.

My queue is missing with PLUSH skin can't even see the download speed or time left. It does not show anything, tried a different skin it is ok. Uninstalled and reinstall with no success. Tried with mNZB or Tanis, I could see the queue. Not sure whats wrong. Anyone facing the same problem.

Just thought i'd post here - as a new user of a synology DS212J, i installed the 4.0 beta straight off.
Installed Python, Sab, Sickbeard and couch potato from
http://synopkg.superzebulon.org/spkrepo/packages - all working correctly.
The only problem i have is that i can't see or tell what users they are running as - from the DSM i can't see anything other than that users i have created.
Apart from that, all working - very happy!

Yep, same issue here.
SABnzbd is acting very flaky.
It appears to be downloading ?!?

I have the Plush theme running and don't ahve this issue (sabnzbd superzebulon package). I don't know what could cause the issue though. I assume you've also tried by rebooting your whole system?

Everything has been working fine for me, except Couch Potato... when I run CP, SB will crash.
Not sure why... but the problem seems that the package developers are not around to help... I've emailed them too... no response.
Would be nice is Synology would step up but that seems to be wishful thinking.

Hi all
trying my luck in this thread
I recently invested in a DS412+ with DSM 4.0_2198
I have tried to install both sickbeard and couchpotato
Before i have installed prereqs baseutils, pytonutils and compressionutils
Still sickbeard and couchpotato complains over pyton with below popupmsg, when i try to install
Install"Python26>=2.6.6-5" before you install this package
Do i have to manually (through ipkg in ssh shell) install/update python?
