Data Replicator 3 not seeing DS411

Postby michbarr » Fri Dec 23, 2011 5:04 pm

I'm getting quite frustrated with DR3. It does not see the DS411 and when I do the other option 'other' and point it to the IP address and my 'shared folder' it calls up a log in menu and when I give it the right info it does not connect.
It is hard to understand why DR3 will not just go and find any DS on the local network regardless. I think it is suppose to work that way but the coders have more work to do!@!!

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this PC running XP-pro to connect correctly and do it all the time!!!

I have my Mac backing up like a ninja and of course XP-pro is a dog. If I didn't have to use it I would be all mac. In fact if I could get some help with the securID software token I have to use with the vpn and get to work on my MAc I would roll this Dell into the closet and close the door.

Well, the bone head here got it to work and I'm sure it was my errors that kept me stumped for a couple hours.

Bonus points for using the word Ninja in a forum about NAS's. :D
