Setting up WebDav

Would someone please kind enough to describe in detail how you get WebDAV to work
with Firefox or Internet Explorer for streaming.
I could not. I have some luck with Netdrive but find I have
to recycle the power on my DS211J every couple days other wise
I can't connect to it using Netdrive.

This does not make sense what you are asking.. WebDav is a set of methods based on the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) that facilitates collaboration between users in editing and managing documents and files stored on World Wide Web servers.

you want to stream media files to IE/Fox?
a) Why? Your NAS is suppose to be used as MediaStorage and the usage methods vary from NFS/SMB/DLNA. These are the ways to see the file system/content.

IE & Fox are webBrowsers and renders stuff on the screen mostly using 3rd party peers, like Windows Mediaplayer / vlc etc...
b) Use OS's filesystem's abilities to hook the NAS up with proper userAutherntication & network method. Rendering stuff is up to OS, not the transportter.

Restarted the DS and Vista. Still no connection. 5005 and 5006 get 404 and certificate invalid on 5006.

This is supposed to be so easy!

I have just tried setting up CalDAV without ANY success.

Steps taken:
1. Activated WebDAV in DSM
2. Activated CalDAV in DSM
3. Created a CalDAV folder in an existing share using "User1" account
4. Set CalDAV to use above CalDAV folder
5. created a new user for CalDAV exclusively, set up priviledges for the CalDAV folder.
6. set up port fowarding to the WebDAV/CalDAV port on my DS1010.

Nothing works, I dont even get a forbidden/not found.

What I want to do: Sync my calendar (maybe even contacts) on my DS.
Sunbird doesnt seem to work either, even though the privileges seem alright.

SYNOLOGY, PLEASE STEP UP and give us instructions. And no, I dont have an iPhone/iPad/iOther.
