DSM 3.2-1955: privilege groups empty

Hi everyone,
I may have found a bug after upgrading to the latest DSM.
I found out that my privilege groups were emptied from all the members I put in them after the upgrade made today.
I tried to add them again but each time I reboot my syno, the privilege groups remain but are emptied again...!
That's not very engaging if synology developpers start to make that kind of mistake...especially regarding account management for businesses

Hi,

I don't know if it's firmware DSM 3.2(1955)'s fault, but each time I try to access some folders on my music share from a Windows PC, I got this error message from Windows (I translated it from french to english) : "(link to the folder) refer to a place unavailable ..."

If I try to acces from an iMac, no problem ...

If I try to access within Firefox, I've got this error : "/scripts/ext-3/ext-all.js?v=1955" not responding ...

Anybody knows what's the problem with windows ?

It seems that I had the same problem. Most shared folders where not accessible anymore and password rejected. Tried to reboot it and this had no effect.

I resolved it by dis-enabling the windows file service / save / enabling the windows file service again. Now the access to the shared folders is normal again.

EDIT:
Called this one to early, still have problems with accessing the shares, it looks like the groups are not functioning anymore for windows sharing.

I have a user that belongs to a group and the login is rejected for that user. If I give the user access through the user profile and not group profile access is granted.
Synology must have busted something again.

I tried your solution, and finally it doesn't seem to be a Windows problem.

If I turn off Windows file sharing in DSM, and I restart the Syno, the problem persist when I try to access any music sub-folder via a web browser.

But there is no problemm accessing these folders using ftp or afp (apple file protocol).

See my edit, I think it might have something to do with defined groups. My existing group defines seem not to work with windows shares. When I make a new group, giving access to a user through it, it works again. Don't know if this is the case for you.

The problem doesn't exist if I use Opera browser instead of Firefox ...

So :

Accessing using a computer :
- OK via AFP or FTP
- problem using SMB


Accessing via a web browser :
- OK via Opera,
- problem using Firefox

Very very strange ...

Oups, I just discovered your messages about the "group problem". I will try to access theses files via smb by creating a new group ...
