DSM 1955 upgrade failed

DSM 1955 upgrade failed

I ran the upgrade wizard from the Synology webbased menu to 1955. The power button is blue and flashing constantly. Any clue what to do next? The Synology Assistant isn't able to detect my DS410j.

Wait and be patient. In general this indicates that the system is performning a consistency test which can take hours or more.

More? Days...weeks? How long before it's time to say "uncle" and give up?
My DS1511+ has been blinking blue for almost 24 hours after I updated to 1955.

Last time I ran a consistency check on my DS411J SHR-2 (4x2TB Seagate Barracuda Green), it took about 2 days, and I was able to access everything while it was running.

Mine must not be doing a consistency check then. I think the 1955 ruined something. It was blinking "blue" for more than 72 hours without a response. No disk access lights. Just the random LAN light blinks. I removed the USB drives and the ethernet cables and tried again. Still nothing after 20+ hours. Not even "pingable."
With the internal harddrives undocked, it boots up, SA recognizes it, but states DSM is Not Installed and the orange light is blinking...hot plugging the internal drives does nothing. Restarting the box...starts the process over ad nauseum.
Crap...had to install DSM from the image and of course lost my system OS partition. Not a happy camper since I had everything backed up except the system OS partition. Data volume was still accessible, but recreating my setup will be a time consuming process.
Any suggestions on the best method to backup the system OS partition once I get it set up? The "normal" backup solutions only seem to backup the shared volumes and the configuration information, but not the optware and 3rd party apps, etc.

Update on DS210j fails

My DS210j Diskstation has OS 3.0-1337, so I downloaded Update Version: DSM 3.2-1955
When selecting the update .pat file I just get an error "Feldwerd ungültig" (something like Field value invalid). Update failed, no alternative options.
How can I install the update?
