All was good yesterday, then I upgraded to OS X Lion 10.7 which apparently breaks Synology's Time Machine compatibility.
"Time Machine Error
The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features."
DS211j
DSM 3.1-1748
Are there any work arounds?
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions,

Hi
As like 20 posts or more, suggest in Synology forum, then upgrade your DSM to 3.2 beta, this contains the new protocol for X Lion, or wait for the DSM 3.2 is released as final if you are uncertain with Beta software.

I updated my DS211j from DSM-3.1-1748 to DSM 3.2 beta and Time Machine works great with OS X Lion 10.7.
Thanks again,

I upgraded mine to 3.2.1922 (the full release version). And I still get the error:
The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features.
I've tried everything, I've made sure mac file service selected in the control panel, and the proper folder is selected for the time machine backups. No luck so far. Is there a special protocol or port I need to open up on my router?

HI,
I actually got the exact same problem.
I upgraded to the 3.2 beta, Time machine worked perfectly. But once upgraded to 3.2-1922 I got the error again!
I have DS-211+.
Any help? Thanks!
