DSM 3.2 1922 update for DS211+ is corrupted

I tried downloading several times from the UK and US servers, with different web browsers, from the Download Manager, and even using the update download procedure inside DSM.
And when I try to update the answer is always that the file is corrupted.

So my conclusion is that there is a problem on the Synology side.

I'm also having this problem with a DS409. I've tried both the built-in update mechanism and manually downloading the update and attempting to use the manual update option. Different computers, different web browsers, downloading the update from different networks, different source servers (UK and US). Nothing I try resolves it.

I have exactly the same problem upgrading my DS210+... tried everything but file is corrupted. Already submitted a support request.

Respone from syno support after checking my DS. Seems to be a space problem.

According to the disk partition layout, the capacity of your system partition belongs to the old layout ( only 750MB. e.g. from one old DS207+ and the new one is 2.3GB.) and is not enough for upgrading system.

As now system partion layout can't be changed by the command as it will cause the data lost. We will suggest you:

* 1. backup all your files and system configuration.
* 2. Go to "Restore defaults" page and select "Format the hard disk and restore to factory default settings"
* 3. execute Synology Assistant to install the last firmware.
* 4. Create a new volume and restore your data and configuration

In this way, the partition would be the newest layout which adopt 4k block and with a bigger system partition.

HUH, I don't like that answer, full backup and restore of a 5 disk system.
Can anyone guide me, and everybody else, so we can check if we have the same problem ?

Ok. After reading gerritjan's post above, I did as they say.
It worked.
And now my DS is at version 3.2.

But I'm not satisfied that I had to do this because of an "old partition layout" on my 5 month old DS211+ !
I bought it brand new in April 2011...

I understand your désappointment and you're right about your first syno installation.
The second issue I saw is the error message displayed during the updating ("file corrupted"). I guess it is a regression. The error message should be : "not enough space".

As I still in communication with the synology support, I will give them your point of view and mine.

I know it is not enough but now we have a solution to update our synology products.
