DNS Server like:

MASKDNS: It runs well as IPKG but would improve the DS a lot if it would be available as Synology Package.

For many user it is great to have a DNS Server running which is easy to configure.

THIS WOULD BE GREAT!!!

VPN Package update

Postby lostwf » Tue Aug 02, 2011 12:56 am

VPN Package update

Can we get new groups for PPTP VPN users and OpenVPN users? Makes it easier to control which users have access via VPN

Thanks
Wayne

Any form of improved DLNA Server services would be highly appreciated. For example: Playback of .mkv (Serviio package or any form like this).

(S)FTP Client. This is highly appreciated. For example: another NAS in the users network, abroad.

Thanks a bunch :)

I would like to see a TFTP and NTP server on the Synology.
Also it could be nice to have the Syslog Server be configurable to listen to several
ports and protocols, not only udp/514.
thanks

Since I have a DS411+ with an Intel based CPU, I would love to see libstdc++.so.5 (GLIBC 3.2) included - this will make it possible to install and run a Tivoli Storage Manager Backup/Archive client on the NAS :-)

What would be great is a VLC package.

Video Transcoding would be possible. We could use it with UPNP server for exemple ?

Bye.

I agree totally. VLC or package for the excellent XBMC. I really think it is about time to do something to the the music/video area in the Synology.
I am thinking also about te millions and milions of telephones thathave android, for example Nokia Symbian-platform Symbian. especially now after there is a major updates for newer nokia phones. it reall yrocks now.

No problems with filemanager and photos with a nokia phone bit there is with audiostation.
Everthing would be great for just not only nokia owners if Synologt could make another Webb Ui that is mae for mobile browsers.

The VLC should be mandataed also at once.

Still I can´t see any response for a complementary webb UI for mobiles.

can´t see Synologys slogan "works on every devices" be true, actuallt i THINK IT IS A LIE.

Umm, yeah, but an official package that doesn't involve hacking the DS, voiding the guarantee, and running the risk of losing your settings whenever you upgrade the DSM would be nice.
