Sorry, I'm not sure if this has been requested yet (I haven't read every page), but holey moley this would make life easier...

Specifically for Bittorrent, the ability to move completed downloads to another directory and have them continue seeding (i.e. the ability to point the torrent file to a different location on file-by-file basis).

While this might not seem like a big thing for those using public trackers, this would be a HUGE help for those of us on private trackers who need to keep our seed ratio up. Having to keep every file in the download folder just to seed it is highly irritating! :)

Make this happen, this is long overdue!

Oh, and I almost forgot:

Make Download Station able to watch a folder for .torrent files and automatically add them to the download queue.

Also a vote from me (this is possible in freeNAS, makes live easier !)

Please add the option to override the download schedule on a per download task.

ie I normall schedule downloads during the evening, but every now and then for one off downloads I would like to do it during the day without having to turn the schedule off and on again.

Yes please! I spend far too much time stopping and restarting torrents to get them downloading in the order I want them (priority order would be ideal)

'm really getting wary of using the BitTorrent capability because it's killing my share ratios, which is going to get me banned. I've tried lowering the download rate, but it won't help if I'm grabbing large files with few other downloaders and mostly seeds. If I don't seed for a fairly long time after I've downloaded the file, I never seed it. That is BAD.

HI All,

I must admit I have not gone through 23+ pages of posts yet so perhaps this is suggested before.

I mainly use Usenet and the NZB option is the main reason I bought this system. Very good implementation thus far.

Yet there is 1 major thing I am missing for NZB usage and that's PAR and PAR2 handling.
Most Usenet posts contain .PAR and .PAR2 files to rectify dataloss during transport. The files ( often Rar ) must be " checked and repaired" before you can unrar them. Even a complete looking far file can have a wrong checksum and the contents will not be unpacked the right way.

The only option I now have is to mount the location where the files are as a network drive and run a ParCheck until from my computer via the network. This is very slow and especially when a far file must be repaired.

So please have a look at quick par and alike to add the ability to use par files to check downloads before you unpack them.

Thanks.

Peter

I've been using DLS for about 6 or 7 months now, having come from uTorrent. I recently upgraded to DSM 3.2 in the hopes there would be some fixes/improvements but nothing much has changed.
This is my wish list
1. Improve the speed. This is the biggie. uTorrent can handle 10's of download tasks at once. I cant get DLS to do more that 1 or 2 without the speed of everything slowing to a crawl. It's not like the box is without grunt, my 1511+ has an atom processor and 3Gb RAM, surely it can do better.
2. Almost as important, allow for me to set the order in which the downloads will be processed. I just want to add a bunch of torrents and then re-sort them however I want. Date created really isnt very useful. A simple number against each task would do. Better still just dragging them up and down the list, but anything would do.
3. Be able to turn on/off tasks manually from the main window overriding the schedule. A simple right-click menu entry called "force"
4. Expose the @Download directory so that in-progress downlaods can be easily accessed. Everytime I restart the DS I have to manually add a mount to bind the @Download to a folder of my own, so I can pull out individual files from a multi-file download before it's all totally complete. Just make the folder visible, or have an option to nominate a name for a bound folder.

Please dont bother adding any other frills until the basics are sorted.

Thanks
Malcolm

Is there any chance to see a VPN client for download station.
VPN center is good but i want to connect my DS210j to a VPN provider like ipredator, or strong vpn.
Download station should be a client for this VPN. And right now it seems that it is not possible...
