Can confirm that Musical Fidelity A5.5 integrated amplifier with USB input works perfectly fine. Volume control and mute buttons work as they should.

I can confirm that the Behringer U-Phono UFO202 (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UFO202.aspx) works with DS409slim.

Only little thing: it's almost impossible to regulate the volume in the Audio Station because it doesn't have a linear response. As soon as I turn down the volume in the Audio Station a little bit, the sound disappears very fast. (But the volume is alright if I just put the Audio Station to the maximum).

I have bought and tested this USB transmitter:

http://www.keene.co.uk/electronics/multi.php?mycode=usbfmt

from Keene Electronics, and it works fine.

Of course, the frequency is normally adjustable by driver and it only comes with Windows drivers.
I haven't yet tested whether the frequency is stored inside the device, once set from the driver.
The default frequency is 90 MHz and the range is quite limited.
My small radio already needs the antenna to be extended, at around 10 m distance from the transmitter.

I may post more details later on when I have done some more tests.

Greetz,

Adrian.

Hi,

This external USB DAC works like a charm with the audio station/DSM 3.1 : http://www.musicalfidelity.com/products ... /V-DAC.asp
There is strictly no settings with this DAC, it is recognized as a sound card by Windows, no driver needed, just plug and listen ...

Volume control works, but is a bit strange... no Mute.

Just tried the Centrance DACmini connected to my DS211j. I am running DSM 3.2 , and it works perfectly.

This unit is known to have driverless 24bit/96KHz support in Windows/Mac/Linux, so I expected to work with the Synology (also known to work as iPad DAC)

Hello there. I am using the Griffin iMic (2) which works perfectly fine with Diskstation USB-Speaker Support and the Audio Station App. Tested on DS210J on DSM 3.2-1922 and upwards.

I'm glad to report the inexpensive USB FM Transmitter I bought from Dealextreme
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-fm-transmitter-100471 (current price 5.23 EUR)
works perfectly as 'USB speaker' on my DS410 with DSM-1944, simply as plug-(chooseFMchannel)-and-play device.

HRT Music Streamer II High Resolution USB D/A Converter works well connected to the front USB port of my DS411slim. Some stuttering occurs with the occasional FLAC music file; potentially pushing the limits of the 2.5inch drives, maybe?

RE: Music Streamer II compatibility

Postby hirestech » Sun Jan 15, 2012 8:31 pm

I have yet to try a DS411slim (will do so soon) but we have many other Synology products at our lab and have verified compatibility. Are you running the latest Music Streamer firmware? Version 1.8 would be current for the Streamer II.

You are welcome to contact our support department or myself directly should you require any assistance.
