Synology to Xbox360

I did a search and I couldn't find an answer to my problem.

I have a brand new DS410 with DS 3.1 and DNLA enabled.

My Xbox is connected via WPA2 WiFi - N to my router.

I dropped an iPhone video (.MOV) into the DNLA Video folder on the NAS.

I then found the NAS DNLA folder on my Xbox and was able to play the movie.

However, .MOV file plays for a few seconds and then freezes.

Is this the NAS, wireless speed, trait of playing a .MOV file or something else I am doing wrong to impact playback in this way?

Ive had friends advise the throughput on the new xbox360 wireless is poor.

can you try it on a ethernet connection to rule that out?

Hi,

I tried a 1080p WMV from my 211+ Nas and it didnt stream well at all over a 'n' wireless network , buffered every 10 seconds.

Not sure on your scenario but it wired is always best

Xbox failed to stream iPhone 4 video generated files while wired with Basic and with WMC extender. I am going to try Boxee software on a PC sitting around before buying a WDTV.

All the Apple supported video specs are also on the Xbox supported spec list. It just can't do it for what ever reason much to my and others dismay.

Unfortunately wired is not possible.

I had this exact same issue.
Over wireless G video playback would stutter constantly, using N it was a lot better but still not reliable. Running network cables wasn't an option.
However a couple of powerline network adapters fixed the problem.

One more adapter gave me a link from the NAS to a PC in a different room that on paper was 2/3 the speed of the wifi and in practice 3 times faster and far more reliable.
