Thanks...--i feel so stupid for never have looked to that

But then again, i never used download station until now. I had use transmission installed via ipkg + transmission remote

Well..it seems however that the synology download redirector only works if the nas is on your local net  I was hoping it could work via internet...

found the plugins...the one for chrome is the best and it's working like a charm :D
Synology System 1:

I love the synodroid android app, but what I think would be really useful would be the option to shutdown the option to shut down the diskstation from the app. Would it be possible to write this feature in?

Its most likely doable... although, I don't see the point. The main function of a NAS is to serve file. What is the point of shutting it down?! That said, you can create a ticket on our google code project page and if we have spare time at some point we might put it in...

Might be more appropriate as a separate app. Synodroid is more of a download station only app. NAS Management could be another project. Lots of the code of synodroid could be reused!

I like the idea of an app that can manage the NAS. Add users, shared folders and such..

I only run my diskstation overnight so I don't hammer the bandwidth during the day (due to my ISP's traffic management program). So if I add a few downloads during the day, it'd be nice for me to turn it off from my phone without having to open up the web interface and do it that way.

I think you can set policies to tell your nas that it can only download during the night but still leave it open during the day... This would be a much better scenario because you could add task during the day and they would start downloading only at night! ;)

But what's the point if having it switched on if its not doing anything during the day? It's a waste of electricity, and bad for the environment! Think of the dolphins LOL!

Cant connect to DS211J with DSM3.1 with synodroid

Postby aleong » Sun Mar 20, 2011 4:38 pm

Hi.
I am able to log into the NAS ( DS211J) running in DSM3.1 with no issues and can also login from my Android phone web browser to the NAS IP. I keep getting DSM Error: Failed to establish network connection every time I try to conenct with Synodroid. I have tried manual setup and "Find Server" options. The correct info appears to populate but I still cant connect with that same error. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I think that there is some problem with the old method of login. Some users where successful by deleting the data for synodroid and restarting setting up synodroid from scratch. I would recommend the find server option over the manual setup...

Identical setup with identical problem, until I discovered two identically named wireless networks. After opting to use the second one, everything seems to be working perfectly. I can't explain why there were two networks with the same name though.

Interesting... I will investigate when I have the time.

Hi
I'm using latest market version 1.1.276 in HTC Desire Z (I finally upgraded from HTC G1! ;-)
I think there is a bug with the search engine:
Whenever I select "Mononova" as a search engine, and perform a search I get "Search provider not installed, click the button..." Search provider *IS* actually installed. Moreover, I do not get any button to install it (I guess that is because it is already installed). I can search without problems in other search engines offered by the search plug-in.
The main problem is that when I choose Mononova and get the error screen there is no way to switch to another search engine!

Weird. Works well for me. I guess the only reason why it says its not installed is that if I get a failed message I assume its not installed. I could fix this. You'd still receive a fail message but at least you'd be able to retry.

Re: Can't connect to DS411J (DSM3.1) with synodroid 1.1.276.

Postby PlanNet » Tue Mar 29, 2011 5:16 pm

Hi,

Exactly same problem: "DSM Error: Failed to establish network connection" DS411J and DSM-3.1-1605

I check the wifi point: only 1 entry and detection process to create a new setup is fine.

If I enter a bad password: I receive message the password is bad.

Removing app with titanium and reinstall doesn't help

Thus synodroid was fine with DSM-3.1-1594, but at the same time I upgrade to 1605 and to gingerbread 2.3.3
don't know which one is causing the problem ...

Any idea ?

Good day,
Laurent.
