Both me and my friend are having this problem.

How did you upgrade transmission to 2.22? As far as I can see, there are only two packages are 2.13 by Sarav and 1.92 by zebulon501. Am I missing something?

transmission 2.22 SPK by Zebulon is here http://synoblog.superzebulon.org/2011/03/transmission-2-22-spk/

I honestly don't know what I just did (besides adding a download folder under the tranmission user) but i jumped back to 2.13, added the download folder and everything was back to normal? upgraded to 2.22 and everything still working! BUT now i'd like to add some security to this, I've been sitting in Putty for 3 hours now trying to figure out how the heck to edit the json file? No guide that I've found has been 100% noobfriendly. I understand the root/adminpw part for logging in, but how do i edit the file? what command? that link in the guide is just extra commands, nothing on how to actually edit the file (where do i click etc)

So...

Log in as root

type: vi usr/local/transmission/var/settings.json (knew that part by heart lol)

and then? how do i edit?

Thanks guys.
oh if it means anything I've got a DS211J

Hi,

I have been trying to resolve a broken Transmission post upgrade to 3.1 for a few weeks now to no avail.

I'm so bummed, I'm ready to wipe my 1010 and start from scratch. I read and tried everything in all the posts.

Time line:
Working 2.13
upgraded
dead
checked permissions
uninstalled 2.13
installed 2.30
edited the file
No luck chuck...

Any hints, ideas?

Thanks everyone...

Cino had an issue where Download Station was causing massive latency on his connection. I had the same problem when I had accidentally turned both upload and download to 0 (unlimited). Once I put my caps in (quite reasonable I still pull down a movie in about 10 min and have 7ms pings to my isp where I had 400 with unlimited enabled.

Hi, if you are still having issues this worked for me:

- uninstall the Transmission.spk in the Package Management
- delete the transmission user in Control Panel > User
- login with the root account to your DS using ssh
- if present delete the folder /usr/local/transmission
- download + install Transmission 2.31.spk from http://synoblog.superzebulon.org/category/tr/

- if necessary edit the /usr/local/transmission/var

I hope that helps.

FYI: the Midnight Commander.spk is really neat makes working in the terminal real easy
