I tried the native download station [also Transmission], and thought I'd be able to use Transmission RemoteGUI along with it, after a configuration of course. Not only did the Remote GUI give me errors when I tried to use it, but I noticed that the package completely stopped, and wouldn't run again. I would get a "Failed to run" message. I disabled the native download station as well temporarily. I uninstalled the Transmission package [2.13 spk] completely, even re-boot the Syno, installed the package again [but didn't run], overwrote my settings for transmission-adduser with the -f switch in Putty, verified the Homes was enabled in Privileges and ran the service again. Still got the "Failed to run" message. Looking around in the Syno forums, it seems that I'm the only one having this problem, everyone has reported that there was no "damage" done to their older Transmission packages with the new DSM 3.1 upgrade.................I beg to differ. I would like to see some type of solution to my problem as I enjoyed the use of the Remote GUI for one instead of having to login to one more device just to administrate torrents. I'm hoping that I'm not the only one with this problem. I've also "lost" about a dozen 1/2 downloaded torrents that I'm unable to use now. Just my 2 cents......

hi, which transmission SPK you are using? Sarav's or Zebulon's?

For some reason the syno download station cause my network latency to jump sky high and sometimes time out, so cannot really download and play online games at same time. Really need to find a way to get transmission to work

Another question. Transmission GUI from synology DSM works fine localy, but not from internet. Should it work?
Or is the problem in closed 9091 port on my router?
I was hoping to keep the port closed and access it through DSM from outside... and from windows GUI over 9091 localy...

Both me and my friend are having this problem.

You'll need to forward the port. Any reason you need it closed?Plilnd wrote:Hey guys, i just upgraded to DSM 3.1 and i had to upgrade to Transmission 2.22, at first transmission would not run, now after a reboot i can start transmission and everything seamd fine, BUT! when a torrent reaches 0.2% ish i get an error, "Error: Permission denied (/volume1/etc...)" if i remove the torrent and add it again it does the same thing and after a while transmission closes down and has to be started from within the DSM again. How did you upgrade transmission to 2.22? As far as I can see, there are only two packages are 2.13 by Sarav and 1.92 by zebulon501. Am I missing something?
