I didn't check with Synodroid but my iPhone application is using the same protocol and what will not work with dsm3.1 is :
- server settings (new script to call and the answer have more fields)
- "files to download" selection for running torrents (not sure if it's implemented in Synodroid anyway)
Everything else should work !
Get SynoDS for iPhone and iPad to manage downloads on your Synology NAS from your Apple device ! Check http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26913

Hi,

I installed Synodroid on my rooted and unrooted Android device. On the unrooted version (HTC Desire) Synodroid works great. But on the rooted phone (HTC Desire with GingerVillain) I geet the error "An error occured for an unknown reason" after X seconds of being connected to my DS211j.

Do you know how to trouble shoot this problem?

Thnx in advance.

Hi Steve,

I installed Synodroid on my HTC Desire (with Froyo), I always get an error message "No server could be found on the network. Check your connection and try again" when I try to search my DS211j (with DSM3.0). I've checked my host name and port number are correct and I've tried connection via both wifi and 3G with no luck. Can you leave some hints for me. Thanks in advance.

Before trying to connect using synodroid, try to connect with your android web browser. If you succeed with your phone's web browser, synodroid will work. There is also some other things you should know:

1- Find server feature in the parameters doesn't always work.
2- If your phone is connected through WIFI on the same WIFI network as you NAS, I would use IP instead of hostnames.
3- If your over 3G or not at home make sure your dyndns name is setup correctly.
4- When you create a WIFI connection manually (if the find server failed), Make sure you have selected the WIFI where you NAS is located in the settings or else the connection will be ignored.

Hi:

First of all, i would like to compliment the authors for this fantastic application! It even works with DSM 3.1, that uses transmission. Now, some features i would love to see implemented:

- Option to add a torrent from a .torrent file
- Now, the new Download Station has RSS Feed option. It would be nice that Synodroid would support this feature completely and allow all operations (open link and download torrent)

Regards.

You can already open .torrent files with Synodroid. It works using the browser download manager and if your file browser is good it will work with that too. I use ES File Explorer and I can start .torrent from my file manager.

For the rest, I'll take a look at it when I get the chance...

I just finished coding the new Synodroid version. I'll post it here for the next couple days before putting it on the market since I can't test all the features. (I upgraded to DSM 3.1 and fixed the problems with synodroid but now I cant test if other version still work.)

Can someone test this and let me know how it goes ?

http://code.google.com/p/synodroid-ds/downloads/detail?name=SynoDroid_1.1.268_BETA_DSM31.apk

Oh BTW, there are new features if you have DSM 3.1 like:
- Per torrent upload/download rate
- Per torrent destination directory
- Per torrent priority
- Per torrent max peers

:D

Later !

Hi:

Is there anything similar to your program that can be used in the Desktop environment, that is, under windows 7?

Synology has its download redirector: http://www.synology.com/support/download.php?lang=us

There is also some FF and Chrome plugins that you can use.
