BBC Radio streaming?

If the problem is caused by the ISP, it shouldn't work through SqueezeCenter or WMP or WA, but they do!!

Well, it was worth a guess at multicasting.

I'm really stumped on this one. iPlayer works for streaming radio fine but the Audio Station doesn't work.

It must be the Synology unit. I have a DS410j with latest 1157 firmware.

Only thing i can suggest is contact support.
it works on my DS410, ill try it on my 407 & 101G and report back.

Hi. Is anyone still successfully using their Synology NAS to stream from the BBC? I've followed the advice given here but can't get anything to work. I suspect that the earlier posts might have been written whilst the BBC was still supporting some of the older streaming formats and wonder whether anyone can add new BBC radio stations and get them to work? Alternatively, can anyone paste a copy of a URL that's still active?

Not working for me. Neither the adresses from http://bbcstreams.com/.
Does Audio station support ASX streaming ?
If not can Synology improve this mistake and implement it in AS?

I've got the DS211J and have been trying all suggestions here to get BBC Radio to work, but no joy with any of it.

MediaPlayer Classic has no problems streaming any of the options, so there must be a DS problem?

When I try and access http://124.40.51.94:80/D/1915/112897/v0 ... WMExt=.asf to stream ABC 774 using URL Snooper my DS221j NAS I get the following:

http://IP Address:5000/audio/webUI/audio_proxy.cgi?_dc=1297157179082&

action=getsonginfo with protocal GET cgi file (relative).

Not sure if that is any useful information or help in determining the root cause as to why I can not stream any internet radio stations.

After digging around it looks like Synology only play internet radio in MP3 format. Has any got a link for BBC radio that is in MP3 format?

Similar to BBC World Service http://mp32.bbc.streamuk.com:80/

I can only find the BBC World service (MP3) format stream - that works - other formats don't

I'd also like to be able to listen to BBC radio via Audio Station...I can listen to BBC World Service (!) with the M3U link above but all of the .asx links for the interesting BBC stations (like 6Music) and also all of the previously referenced extracts of the ASX file links don't work for me. I have DSM4 with a DS211J. The ASX links work via my PC but I'd like to use these when the PC is off via DS audio/AS.

Not gonna be able to help here, but wanted to put it out there that I'm also having this exact same thought/problem . Please can Synology do something to correct this in the next update? That would be marvellous... I get the feeling that a lot of people have bought a NAS like this in order to listen to their music with the pc/laptop turned off. If this aspect doesn't work it negates the whole reason for buying one.

I've spoken with Synology support on this and they have confirmed that ...asx support via transcoding already exists on the more powerful platforms which would explain why some can access the BBC feeds....for the rest of us ("ARM" platforms e.g. DSJ211) it is already developed and in quality testing . Potentially will be arriving in "summer" with the new DSM release. Let's see! Thanks to Peter from Synology for the great support by the way.
