I had the same problem, not only in the playlist screen, but also in the search screen.
Regarding the playlist screen: Although the ds audio app was connected and i could browse through artists, albums etc, i got "diskstation not connected" messages when selectng the playlists. I found out that this was caused by an illegal character in one of the playlists. I renamed the playlist and the problem was gone.
The problem regarding the search sreen does still exist. When i search for instance on "U2" i get an error message. I do nog get an error message when searching for other artists or strings. I assume the search result for "U2" might contain an illegal character as well.
I hope all of you have a solution for the playlist screen now. I'm interested if some people can confirm my problem with the search function. And i hope Synology can soon fix the illegal character issue. Either don't accept files with illegal characters to be imported, or just support a larger collection of characters in the application.
