DS211J + D-Link DIR-655

Has anybody tried this setup: DS211J with DIR-655 router? Any compatibility issue?

You can't really have compatibility issues with a router, it will work as long as it has a free network port

Just remember, if your router isn't listed it just means that you have to configure it manually. You can't use the built in feature in DSM for configuration

I guess that routers can easily have compatibility issues. I have DS211J + DIR-655. When, I copy between computers, I get 30 MB/sec (hard drive speed). When I directly connect Synology to one of the computers, I obtain about the same speed (and slightly better). However, no luck when Synology is plugged into DIR-655. I have checked the cables (new Cat6) (they all work fine with a direct connect), but the speed is 13-15 MBsec through the router. The funny thing is that 15 MBsec (on 1GB file) is already slightly more than 100 Mbit/sec, i.e., it cannot work in 100 mbit mode. But not the full speed. Could you think of any potential problems here except for router-synology compatibility? PS: Synology control panel claims that it's 1000/full duplex connection. I tried different MTUs in vain, I guess it's all downgraded to 1500 by the router.

It can be a problem with autonegotiation of the speed.
If possible, disable that from the router and try to set it fixed to 1000Mbps/full
(unfortunately there is not such control on Synology, so only chance is on the other end of the wire)
