New version SABnzbd+ package & helper & DS1010+ support

hi there
i'm a complete newbe in nas world, but i'm actually using 410 model, and i just installed the sabnzbd package on the nas.
everythings working fine for me, but i got a simple question, cpu usage is always between 75-95% while using the application, download, check, unrar etc...
is it bad for the nas to have a constant high cpu usage for a long time like this ? like 12h per days.
i'm using it in raid 5 and as a download station with sab and sharing files with other computer in the house.

how many connections did you set per server? I set it to 6-8 connections. the more connection after that, the more it will use cpu.

Just update by uploading 0.5.2 sources with sabhelper, that's what's it's meant for

Merty does it work with the new ds411+ ?

I guess it should because the processor is the same than ds1010+.
I installed it but when I go to http://ip_of_my_server:9200 nothing appears !!

Do you have any idea ?

Hi Merty,

Exellent job on the package, but I am running the DSM 3.0 beta firmware at the moment on my DS-209 and the package isn't running anymore. When I try to start in manually from the terminal, I get:

ImportError: No module named _md5

Any chance that the package can be updated to work under the new DSM 3.0 firmware?

Temporary quick fix using ipkg

ipkg install python25 py25-cheetah py25-cherrypy py25-openssl sqlite

After that, edit the last line in /var/packages/sab2/target/scripts/sabstart.sh to

/opt/bin/python2.5 $DIR/sab/SABnzbd.py -s ${IPaddr}:${port} -f $DIR/sab/sab.ini -d

PROFIT!

You can also edit sabstatus.sh and sabstop.sh the same way for full power.

You might wanna try to install py25-openssl, but not sure. Don't have access to ssl server.

I am having the same problem (but on my DS110j with DSM 3.0).

I dont know where to begin with installing ipkg - I cant even find a build compiled for my Synos CPY.

Any chance we will see SABnzbd+ repackaged to work with DSM 3.0? Pretty please?

If you guys are comfortable using ipkg to install necessary components and then edit script lines... why wouldn't you just install SAB via ipkg too instead of this package? The ipkg is at 0.5.3 (at least for my DS209) and has been on the optware feed since the end of June!

Thanks a lot merty. It was a cinch to download and install and also upgrade to the newest version of SABnzbd+
I had briefly tried SABnzbd+ loong ago but I kept going back to desktop usenet clients instead. Having it run on my new DS410 is really nice and I'm going to finally migrate away from my desktop client.
