Cannot login after upgrade - DS207+ with DSM 3.0/1337

Hello,

I have a DS207+ which i just upgraded from DSM2.3 to the DSM3.0/1337 release. I get the web login form on port 5000. But the old admin password and account is NOT recognized obviously.
I get the message "You are not authorized to use this service".

I tried with both admin and root accounts - which were the only ones i used previously (understand that i'd never use root for the gui login, only for ssh).

Another thing is that SSH login is not working after this upgrade - it seems that SSHD is not running, also TELNET is disabled. So i have a unit, which is running the latest firmware, but cannot be accessed but via SAMBA (my shares are still available) via windows explorer.

The last comment to this, is that I downloaded the Synology Assistant along with the firmware .pat file, but i doesnt find my unit, eventhough my pc and it are on the same network and switch even - also it doesnt spot my DS210j which has been running for months on the same network.


What a lame experience from an upgrade... -please can anyone give me an idea on how to get around this?

I have install also patch 1337 on DS 210j
First i loose acces \\domainname\webman... but keep acces \\localIP\webman and windows explorer

but now i can't acces by explorer or by browser trough the net. The DSM is hide in my network ! it works, the leds blinks when i try to access but nothing works....

I would ike to format all (i just have picture for 200 Go) and re-install 3.0 12xx

BUT : Some body can tell me how format if i can't access with explorer or another way to the nas ?

Found that too - so i got further from that. However the upgrade left a mess - i think this patch could have been made way more intuitive...

I re-formated the raid disks and re-install DSM with patch 1337 and it works.
Perhaps the problem come from the upgrade 12xx to 13xx....

That is one *very* unintuitive error message...

I get the point and totally agree - whats the point of having a misleading error message, or rather an error message not relating to the actual issue.

I have discovered another situation where you can receive the error 'You are not authorized to use this service'

It could be because I'm running such an old version of firmware on my DS209 (DSM 2.2-0959).

I have configured DDNS so that I can connect and manage to my box from work. I am able to login and authenticate using https and port 5001, but within a minute and usually within seconds, no matter what I'm trying to do, I'm logged out and receive the above error.

I need to obtain a 1GB external USB drive to backup my RAID 1 before I'll update the firmware, and will try to remember to provide a status here when I do (and submit it as a bug if need be). I also need to search the forums for DDNS..

I have the same problem and can not access my server settings anymore. I treid to connect from a different computer and it still does not work. Does anyone have another suggestion?
