I installed a new DS106J with an old 2.5GB HDD and plugged it into an ethernet port on a D-Link MIMO G624M Wireless ADSL Router. When I autorun the Synology Installation disk, I get an error message saying "Setup Wizard did not find any network. Make sure you are connected to a network and try again."
I have seen the drive listed on the router's DHCP web interface and entered its address in the browser's address bar, but it does not bring up the DS's web interface. I also told the firewell to grant access to the DSAssistant.exe application, and I saw the DS in the firewall's network map (although Mcafee Internet Security Centre 2007 mentioned that it needed some Mcafee application installed on it in order to monitor its protection status). Security on the wireless connection is temporarily disabled.
The LEDs on the DS front panel show power and lan are working, but the status LED is solid amber, indicating that the disk is not formatted, even though I formatted it with NTFS file system prior to installing it. I am running Windows Vista 32bit Home Premium and have a Belkin 108g+ network adapter card.
Any help in getting me started with this will be much appreciated. The few previous posts I found on the same topic seem to have been unresolved.
